KIEV, Ukraine, April 17 (UPI) -- Citing concerns about Russian imported terrorism, Ukraine's state border service announced Thursday that it was immediately implementing restrictions regarding the entry of Russian men into Ukraine.

A border service spokesperson said Thursday that "Due to information about possible provocations on the national border and terrorist attacks, border guards have temporarily tightened control over citizens traveling to our country from Russia."

Russian airline Aeroflot acknowledged Thursday that Ukraine had instituted restrictions on the travel of Russian men between the ages of 16 and 60 to Ukraine. Aeroflot noted that exceptions to the rule will be at the discretion of Ukraine's border patrol regional department head.

On Wednesday, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk denounced Russia for its role in inciting unrest in Ukraine, most recently in the eastern region of the country, and issued "a message to Russia: stop supporting terrorists, condemn them. And we will deal with the situation in our country ourselves."
