WELLINGTON, New Zealand, April 6 (UPI) -- The duke and duchess of Cambridge arrived in Wellington on Monday, kicking off their highly anticipated three-week tour of New Zealand and Australia.

Kate Middleton -- wearing a red coat, matching pillbox hat and a New Zealand fern brooch -- held Prince George in her arms as she stepped off the plane, giving journalists and visitors a look at the 8-month-old royal.

Prince George is due to make an official appearance in Wellington at an event for pediatric nurses, his first since his christening last year.
