Former Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf narrowly escaped an assassination attempt late Wednesday evening when a bomb exploded on a bridge minutes from his convoy passing.
The bomb detonated on Faizabad Bridge, along the route Musharraf's convoy was taking as they transported the former president from the Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology -- where he has been receiving treatment since his admission in January -- to his farm house on the outskirts of Islamabad.
