A bomb from World War II exploded in Thailand Wednesday resulting in 7 deaths and 19 injuries.

The bomb was found at an old construction site, sold to a scrap dealer, and as workers were attempting to cut it open, it exploded. The blast killed 7, injured 19, and decimated the scrap metal shop.

Allied forces dropped bombs on Thailand in retaliation after they declared their support for Japan. According to estimates, there are 300,000 tons of unexploded bombs remaining from World War II with most of them in Germany.
