Trotter, joined by his girlfriend of eight years, Nicky Ottaway, 33, attended a news conference in Dorking Wednesday at which his identity was revealed.

He said he purchased 10 pounds ($16.65) of lottery tickets on the way home from work and "had a good feeling all week. I told Nicky, my partner, 'I've done it, I've won the lottery.' She told me to shut up and stop being an idiot."

After he realized he had won, Trotter said, "Apparently I turned white as a sheet and couldn't sit still. I got her (Nicky) to check the numbers with me and she started screaming."

The winning lottery numbers were 6, 24, 25, 27, 30 and "lucky star numbers" 5 and 9.
