Pakistani court demands government produce 35 missing persons

ISLAMABAD, March 18 (UPI) -- Pakistan's Supreme Court gave the government one more day to produce 35 missing persons, warning the prime minister will be summoned if they are not produced.

The court is investigating the disappearance of the missing people, who the court suspects were kisnapped by security forces in the course of battles with insurgents in Kyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

The three-member bench of the court, led by Justice Jawwad S. Khawaja, heard Tuesday a commission formed to investigate the case wanted more time, the Pakistan's Dawn News reported.

Khawaja said if the government does not deliver the missing persons to court by Wednesday , notices would be issued to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Kyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak to appear.
