Jeff and Sue Green, noting their Christian convictions, advertised only married couples are welcome at their 13-room bed-and-breakfast in Llandrindod Wells, Wales. After being informed by England's Equality and Human Rights Commission of their possible violation, they said they will take the issue to the Court in Strasbourg, France, the Daily Telegraph reported.
They seek to clarify whether their beliefs and human rights are superseded by England's equality laws, the newspaper said.
Jeff Green said Christian businesses were struggling to be true to their principles of faith because of the demands placed on them by the state. He added he had not received complaints from the public regarding his business.
The Greens have the support of the Christian Legal Center, whose executive director, Andrew Williams, said: "This case is about Christian conscience and the right to live out our faith in the public space. No evidence has been presented to show that anyone has been denied a service from the Greens."
