KABUL, Afghanistan, March 15 (UPI) -- At least 18 militants were killed or injured during military operations conducted in Faryab, Zabul, Logar and Ghor provinces of Afghanistan, officials said.
The operations were carried out from Friday to Saturday jointly by the Afghan national police and the National Directorate of Security, the Afghan intelligence agency, Khaama Press reported.

Eight Taliban militants were killed and 10 others injured during the operations, the Afghan Interior Ministry confirmed. Ten other militants were arrested during the operations.
Security forces also seized ammunition and explosives during the operations, the ministry said.
