VP Biden reiterates diplomatic support to Ukrainian PM

On Monday, U.S. Vice President Joe Biden telephoned Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yaseniuk to discuss "ongoing diplomatic efforts to support Ukraine's stability, sovereignty and territorial integrity."

WASHINGTON, March 4 (UPI) -- U.S. Vice President Joe Biden telephoned Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yaseniuk on Monday to discuss the situation in Ukraine following Russia's occupation of the Crimean Peninsula.

According to the White House, Biden discussed American "ongoing diplomatic efforts to support Ukraine's stability, sovereignty and territorial integrity" as well as economic support to Ukraine.

Biden also consulted with Estonian President Toomas Hendrik regarding "the international effort to de-escalate the situation" in Ukraine.
