Begg was charged Saturday by a Westminster magistrates court with facilitating terrorism overseas, the Guardian reported.
The suspect was arrested Tuesday with Gerrie Tahari, 44, of Ashway and two other men.
Tahari was also charged with facilitating terrorism overseas as were the other two men.
Begg was arrested in 2002 in Islamabad, Pakistan, as an "enemy combatant." He was transferred to the U.S.-run military prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, where he was held for three years.
He was released in 2005 and allowed to return to the United Kingdom.
The court ordered Begg remanded. He denied the charges.
