KUNMING, China, March 2 (UPI) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping Sunday called for swift action to bring those responsible for a deadly terror attack in Kunming to justice.

About 9:20 p.m. Saturday, more than 10 terrorists carried out a mass stabbing at Kunming railway station, China's state-run Xinhua News Agency reported. At least 28 people were killed and 113 injured. Five of the attackers were shot and killed by police.

Xi asked law enforcement officials to investigate the incident and punish those responsible. The president also called on authorities to crack down on terrorist activities in all forms throughout China.

Premier Li Keqiang asked suspects in the attack be pursued and punished, and called on public security departments work to strengthen terror prevention.
