Two die in Dusseldorf, Erkath, Germany, law offices, suspect detained

GOCH, Germany, Feb. 28 (UPI) -- A man was detained after two women were killed Friday in separate attacks, 90 minutes apart, in law firms in Dusseldorf and Erkath, Germany, officials said.

After a lawyer was stabbed to death in Dusseldorf, and another man injured in the office, police responded to a similar incident in Erkath, nine miles away, in which a legal assistant was killed and another man injured, the website of the newspaper Rheinische Post reported.

In both cases, a fire was set at each office, it added, noting the suspect was identified only as an Asian martial artist who had legal dealings with both law offices.

Prosecutors said the suspect was arrested in Goch, near the German border with the Netherlands, and admitted the crimes.
