GUIYANG, China, Feb. 27 (UPI) -- A fire broke out on a moving bus in southwest China Thursday, killing five people and injuring 32 others, authorities said.
The fire started at about 1 p.m. local time as the bus passed by an elementary school in Guiyang city in Guizhou province, China's state-run Xinhua News Agency reported.

Witnesses said there were about 50 people on the bus at the time of the incident.
The injured were transported to hospitals.
Police cordoned off the area to investigate. The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
