Air pollution alert level raised in Beijing

BEIJING, Feb. 21 (UPI) -- Beijing raised its pollution alert to orange Friday as a heavy smog hovering over the Chinese capital was expected to stay for at least three more days.

The increased alert came with an health advisory for children and the elderly, and a request for citizens to use public transportation, China's state-run Xinhua News Agency reported.
