U.S. Navy investigating why frigate ran aground in Black Sea

SAMSUN, Turkey, Feb. 19 (UPI) -- The U.S. Navy is investigating what caused the frigate USS Taylor to run aground in the Turkish Black Sea port of Samsun last week.

The incident took place Feb. 12 when the ship was mooring in Samsun. No injuries were reported, the Navy said, and the ship was able to dock successfully despite the mishap.

The USS Taylor is deployed as part of the 6th Fleet, supporting security operations in the region.
