TRIPOLI, Libya, Feb. 18 (UPI) -- A private television station in Libya that's been critical of Islamist efforts to influence the fledgling government was attacked Tuesday, the station said.
Rebel forces hurled rocket-propelled grenades at the station's Tripoli headquarters, damaging the building but injuring no one. Security guards returned fire at a building across the street, forcing the attackers to flee, Middle East Online said.

The station's director, Atel al-Ghanmi, said the incident was just the latest in a string of attacks on the private television outlets and newspapers that have sprung up in the three years since a revolution toppled Moammar Gadhafi's regime.
