STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Feb. 17 (UPI) -- Seven people were charged Monday for participating in a violent neo-Nazi riot in Stockholm last year, Swedish officials said.
Four of the suspects were charged with violent rioting and hate speech, while the other three were charged with instigating rioting, the Swedish news agency TT reported.
Officials said more suspects will be charged in the case.
"There will be more charges filed than just these, altogether there were around 30 people detained after the demonstration," Ulf Sundstrom of the Soderort police told the TT news agency.
In December, riots erupted when a group of neo-Nazis from the national socialist Swedish Resistance Movement clashed with about 800 peaceful anti-racist demonstrators. Just six police officers had been stationed at the protest. Three people, including a police officer, were injured.
Twenty-eight people were arrested at the scene. Other suspects in the case may face charges of attempted aggravated assault, weapon crimes, and hate speech.
