ST. PETERSBURG, Russia, Feb. 15 (UPI) -- A head-on collision between a Volkswagen van and a logging truck left at least 10 people dead in Russia Saturday, officials said.

The crash near St. Petersburg left three people injured and was under investigation, police said.

Preliminary reports said the van apparently crossed into oncoming traffic on a rural road near the Finland border and crashed into the truck, police told Russia's RIA Novosti news agency.
