Roadside bomb near Afghanistan school kills at least one

JALALABAD, Afghanistan, Feb. 8 (UPI) -- Authorities in Afghanistan said a roadside bomb blast near a school Saturday killed at least one civilian and injured at least nine.

Provincial authorities said the explosion occurred in the city of Jalalabad and left one person dead and nine injured, but public health officials told the Khaama Press two victims were killed and 11 were injured.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility from the Taliban or other militants operating in the area.
