BENGHAZI, Libya, Feb. 5 (UPI) -- Six children were injured Wednesday in Benghazi, Libya, after a bomb was thrown into the playground at a private elementary school, an official said.

The bombing took place about 11:30 a.m. during a recess break at the Mahd al-Maraca school in Benghazi's Tabalino district, the Libya Herald reported.

Deputy Interior Minister Bahlul al-Said said he and his team were heading straight to the school to lead the investigation into the attack.

The injured children were taken to al-Jelaa hospital, the Herald said.
