Bus overturns, at least 10 killed in India

Feb. 4, 2014 at 1:59 AM

MUMBAI, Feb. 4 (UPI) -- A tourist bus fell off a bridge in western India's Maharashtra state Tuesday, killing at least 10 people and injuring 30 more, police said.

The Press Trust of India news agency, quoting police, said the bus was traveling to neighboring Gujarat state when it apparently failed to negotiate a bend on the highway near Pune and fell off a bridge.

Police said four other vehicles, whose drivers had stopped to help rescue the bus passengers, were also damaged when a container vehicle crashed into them at the accident site.

The injured were taken to nearby hospitals.
