Four Egyptian troops killed in Sinai bus ambush

CAIRO, Jan. 26 (UPI) -- An insurgent attack on a military bus near a security checkpoint in Sinai Sunday left four Egyptian soldiers dead and 13 wounded, the army said.

The ambush came one day after militants said they shot down a military helicopter in the restive Sinai region.

The Sunday morning attack occurred about 50 meters (55 yards) from a security checkpoint, Ahram Online reported.
