The National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) said tremors from the quake, which struck just after noon local time, lasted for 30 minutes in the Purworejo district, the Antara news service reported.
One home in Purworejo was destroyed and several were damaged.
The quake was centered about 204 miles southeast of Jakarta at a depth of 55.4 miles, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
A 5.4-magnitude quake occurred about 9:30 p.m. Friday off Maluku province on Ambon Island. Its epicenter was 275 miles southeast of the provincial capital, Ambon, at a depth of 18 miles, said Yarman, the head of a geophysics station in Lampung province.
The quake did not have the potential to create a tsunami, the agency said.
