ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates, Jan. 21 (UPI) -- Abu Dhabi's Federal Supreme Court Tuesday ordered the closure of all branches of the Muslim Brotherhood in the United Arab Emirates.

The court ruling came after 30 Brotherhood members were convicted of establishing and running a Brotherhood branch in the Emirates, the Abu Dhabi daily the National reported.

Twenty members of the group are Egyptian and 10 are from the Emirates, the paper said, adding all were sentenced to prison terms ranging from three months to five years.

The Brotherhood members were convicted of embezzling classified files from the Supreme Council of National Security, establishing a Brotherhood branch and collecting funds to support it, the paper said.
