BANGUI, Central African Republic, Jan. 13 (UPI) -- A Central African Republic man said he was seeking revenge when he ate the flesh of a Muslim man he and a Christian mob allegedly attacked and killed.
BBC footage of the incident appears to show Ouandja Magloire, who calls himself "Mad Dog," eating the leg of the victim of the alleged attack.
Magloire told the BBC he led the attack on the man because he was mad Muslims had killed his pregnant wife, his sister-in-law and her baby.
He said he saw the man sitting on a minibus and decided to follow him. As he went, a mob of some 20 youths joined him. They dragged the man onto the street where they beat and stabbed him before setting him on fire, the BBC reported Monday.
Sectarian violence has been on the rise in the Central African Republic since the country's first Muslim leader, Michel Djotodia, was named last March. Djotodia stepped down as president Friday.
