LONDON, Jan. 13 (UPI) -- Surveillance footage of Rebekah Brooks' husband allegedly hiding evidence was shown to the jury in London's phone-hacking trial Monday.
Charlie Brooks is seen in the video leaving an elevator in the London apartment with a bag and a laptop computer, and moments later is seen returning to the elevator empty-handed, the British newspaper The Guardian reported.
Rebekah Brooks is accused of conspiring with her husband and the head of security of News International, their former employer, to conceal documents and computers from investigating detectives.
The video footage, seized by Scotland Yard, the metropolitan London police, was recorded 12 minutes after Rebecca Brooks was arrested at a police station on July 17, 2011. It was two days after she resigned as chief executive of News International after a phone-hacking scandal, involving the interception of cellphone calls of celebrities and politicians by the news organization, led to the closure of the News of the World newspaper, the Guardian said.
