Iranian commander: Iran can attack U.S., Israeli interests

TEHRAN, Dec. 31 (UPI) -- Iran has the ability to attack U.S. and Israeli interests in the region, a senior Iranian military commander warned.

"The enemy is aware that the Islamic Republic has the power to destroy the U.S. and Israeli illegitimate interests in the region and can deliver them serious and crippling blows," Deputy Chief of Staff Masoud Jazayeri said.

"For years, our commanders have kept their fingers on the trigger. They have been given both the permission and the authority [to attack enemies] and this is neither a bluff nor propaganda."

Jazayeri said the United States is incapable of conducting a military strike on Iran, the Tasnim News Agency reported Tuesday.
