KABUL, Afghanistan, Dec. 31 (UPI) -- Taliban militants were among those arrested Tuesday in a bombing in Afghanistan's Laghman province in which at least 25 people were injured, officials said.

In a statement, the National Directorate of Security said the group, which included nine Taliban followers, was arrested while planting explosives behind a hospital in Mehtarlam, the Laghman province capital, Khaama Press reported.

Directorate officials said the militants admitted involvement in Laghman bombing Dec. 1 in which a magnetic bomb was placed on a vehicle that was part of the traffic police fleet.

Khaama Press said Taliban militants have not commented on the directorate's statement.
