Yamal Airlines jetliner makes emergency landing in Tyumen, Russia

TYUMEN, Russia, Dec. 30 (UPI) -- A jetliner with 46 passengers aboard made an emergency landing Monday in Tyumen, Russia, near the Kazakhstan border, transport police said.

"Nobody was hurt. The crew made a decision to return to the airport due to a malfunctioning landing gear sensor," a police source told the government news agency ITAR-Tass.

The Urals federal district office of the Emergency Situations Ministry said the landing gear of the plane, a Bombardier CRJ-200 owned by Yamal Airlines and traveling to St. Petersburg, failed to retract after takeoff from Tyumen.
