BEIJING, Dec. 30 (UPI) -- A fire in a three-story residential building in southern China's Qingyuan city killed at least six people, authorities said Monday.

Firefighters fought the Sunday fire in China's Guangdong province for about 90 minutes before putting it out, Xinhua News Agency reported.

All the victims were members of one family, the report said. One died at the scene, while the other five died in a hospital.

It was not clear if other parts of the building were affected by the blaze or if other people were injured.

The cause of the fire was being investigated.
