BAGHDAD, Dec. 19 (UPI) -- At least 22 people died Thursday in Baghdad when a suicide bomber detonated a bomb among a group of Shiite pilgrims and militants shot a family, officials said.

The suicide bomb attack took place at a food tent in the Dura area of Baghdad as pilgrims made their way to the shrine city of Karbala, medical officials said.

Fifteen people died and at least 35 were wounded in the attack.

Meanwhile, militants dressed in army uniforms attacked the home of an anti-al-Qaida militiaman Thursday, killing the man, his wife and their three children, Middle East Online reported.
