There are currently about 9 million Syrian refugees displaced throughout the region due to the country's civil war -- several hundred thousand Syrians ended up in Lebanon, the New York Times reported.
"We are dying from this cold," said refugee Abdullah Arat, adding that he is still waiting on a heater promised to him by an aid organization.
"Bring us clothes!" one young boy said. "We are cold!"
While some children have wool sweaters and rubber boots, more are dressed in leggings and cotton sweatshirts, the news report said.
Others don't have fuel to heat their makeshift homes and have turned to burning garbage.
Many children also do not have access to education, prompting parents to worry about their futures.
"Our children are missing their future," said Nadia Karbo, 26. "I want to see a sign that says 'Doctor' with my son's name on it."
