Indian official says Pakistan broke cease-fire pact 149 times in 2013

NEW DELHI, Dec. 10 (UPI) -- Pakistan violated the cease-fire agreement up to 149 times this year, causing the deaths of 12 security personnel, Indian legislators were told Tuesday.

Speaking to legislators in the lower house, Minister of State for Home Mullappally Ramachandran added that 24 other security personnel were injured during the violations, Press Trust of India reported.

Ramachandran said the Indian government had "repeatedly" called on Pakistan to honor the so-called "Line of Control" in the state of Jammu and Kashmir that serves as the unofficial border between the two countries, and to abide by the 2003 cease-fire agreement.
