More bombings in Baghdad Sunday; at least 24 killed

BAGHDAD, Dec. 8 (UPI) -- At least two dozen people died Sunday in a series of explosions in Baghdad, police said.

Officials told CNN there were dozens of injuries in the blasts, which were the latest in a continuing series of bombings linked to warring Shiite and Sunni factions.

The United Nations tallied 659 Iraqi deaths and nearly 1,400 injuries caused by sectarian violence and terrorism in November alone.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for Sunday's bombings and it was not clear if the same culprits were behind all of them.
