Roadside bomb kills 10 mourners in Iraq

WAJIHIYAH, Iraq, Dec. 1 (UPI) -- A roadside bomb exploded in Iraq's eastern province of Diyala on Sunday, killing at least 10 people and injuring 45 others, officials said.

The bomb went off as a funeral procession for a Sunni tribal leader in the town of Wajihiyah passed by, China's state-run Xinhua news agency reported.

"The latest reports said 10 mourners were killed by the blast and 45 wounded, including 13 in critical condition," a local official said.

On Saturday night, the tribal leader's son was killed when a bomb was detonated inside his car, Xinhua reported.
