Italian police break up mafia family

REGGIO CALABRIA, Italy, Nov. 29 (UPI) -- Italian police said they have broken up a mafia gang accused of killing a rival gang member and feeding him to pigs.

Police targeted the Mazzagatti family, part of the 'Ndrangheta mafia of Calabria, Tuesday, Italy's ANSA news agency reported.

The Mazzagatti family is accused of killing Francesco Raccosta by feeding him to pigs. Carmine Putrino also allegedly was killed by the family.

Both of the victims were from the rival Ferraro-Raccosta gang, police said.
