MOSCOW, Nov. 27 (UPI) -- Moscow police said Wednesday they have detained 14 alleged members of a banned Islamist sect who were carrying ammunition and a suicide belt.
The Takfir wal-Hijra members were detained Tuesday night after police discovered the weapons during a raid, RIA Novosti said.

Grenades, pistols and three homemade explosives were found, police said.
Takfir wal-Hijra, which began in Egypt and is active in the Middle East, was labeled an extremist organization in Russia in 2010.
