Australian army ex-employee charged in 'Jedi' video sex scandal

CANBERRA, Australia, Nov. 25 (UPI) -- A former employee of the Australian army was arrested Monday on charges he sent pornographic emails to Defense Force colleagues, officials say.

Hastings Frederickson, 40, was allegedly involved with the so-called Knights of the Jedi Council, which exchanged videos of sex acts without the women involved knowing, the Australian Broadcasting Corp. reported Monday.

The men have allegedly distributed hundreds of the emails since 2010. with demeaning messages about the women attached.

Frederickson told journalists he intends to clear his name.

He is among six members of the army sacked more than a week ago for their involvement in the Jedi Council.

Some 90 people, mostly from the army, have been implicated in the scandal.
