Welding spark causes fire at popular Vietnam bar, at least 6 killed

HANOI, Vietnam, Nov. 19 (UPI) -- A fire broke out at a popular Hanoi bar in Vietnam Tuesday and killed at least six people, police said.

The bar is under construction and an initial investigation indicated the blaze began when sparks from welding hit an electric wire, Tuio Tre News reported.

Col. To Xuan Thieu, the deputy director of the Hanoi firefighting department, said the six victims were rushed to a hospital but were pronounced dead.

Dozens of firefighters were on the scene Tuesday morning, Tuio Tre News said.
