Tunisia extends state of emergency

The order came about due to ongoing protests that launched the Arab Spring in the country in late 2010.

Tunisians have been protesting against rising unemployment rates, poverty levels, inflation and government oppression. The demonstrations led to the ouster of former President Zine el-Abidine Ben Ali in early 2011.
