Family is unable to pay $8 million ransom, Libyan bank manager killed

BENGHAZI, Libya, Oct. 30 (UPI) -- A bank manager, who kidnappers held for 45 days as they demanded an $8 million ransom from his family, has been found dead in Benghazi, Libya, police said.

Abdallatif Zuai was shot multiple times and his body was left in the city's Guarsha district, the Libya Herald reported.

The family said they were unable to pay the ransom, which at one point was lowered to $4.8 million.

Zuai was kidnapped in mid-September, but the family did not report the kidnapping, the Herald reported.
