SANTA TERESA, Peru, Oct. 13 (UPI) -- A truck plunged off a cliff in southeastern Peru, killing all 52 people, including 13 children, aboard, police said.
The incident happened Friday night as the truck was transporting people home from a party in the city of Santa Teresa, China's state-run Xinhua News Agency reported.

The truck careened off the road and fell down a 656-foot chasm, police said.
The cause of the crash has yet to be determined.
Xinhua said people in the region often travel by trucks due to a lack of buses.
