A statement from the ministry's transportation department said the aircraft requested an emergency landing shortly after takeoff en route from Moscow to Tokyo Wednesday.
"The aircraft carrying 10 crew members and 144 passengers landed at 10:38 p.m. [local time]," the statement said.
No one was injured in the incident, RIA Novosti reported Thursday.
The statement said "a problem with electronics" was the possible cause for the emergency landing.
