AMSTERDAM, Netherlands, Sept. 30 (UPI) -- Israeli President Shimon Peres visited the Anne Frank House as part of his three-day visit to the Netherlands, DutchNews.nl reported.

Peres, 90, stayed for 45 minutes at the Amsterdam house where the young Jewish girl hid during World War II, the website said.

The president said Frank's voice "must be heard around the world, certainly in these troubled times."

Peres was scheduled to visit the Peace Palace in The Hague Monday and was scheduled to meet with King William-Alexander and Prime Minister Mark Rutte Tuesday.
