Gunmen kill police officer, wound two others in North Sinai

ARISH, Egypt, Sept. 30 (UPI) -- Gunmen opened fire on police officers in the North Sinai town of Arish Monday, killing one and injuring two, security officials said.

Maj. Gen. Ali al-Azzazy, assistant North Sinai security chief, said the officers were walking to work at a police station when the gunmen drove up beside them and started firing, al-Masry al-Youm reported.

The attack took place in Athari Square.
