Five dead in helicopter crash in India

MUMBAI, Sept. 29 (UPI) -- Five people died Sunday when a helicopter crashed shortly after takeoff in Mumbai, officials said.

The chopper, carrying three crew members and two engineers for United Helicharters Pvt Ltd., took off from Mumbai's Juhu Airport and was en route to Aurangabad, a source requesting anonymity told Indo-Asian News Service.

The helicopter was missing for several hours before police found debris from the crash near Naneghat hills.

Officials believe the crash was due to inclement weather in the region. The helicopter likely got tangled up in high-tension electric cables overhead due to poor visibility.
