NALCHIK, Russia, Sept. 27 (UPI) -- A man in Russia was sentenced to 20 years in prison for killing an 89-year-old World War II veteran to steal his gold teeth, court officials said.

The sentence was imposed Thursday on Islam Dzugulov, who broke into the victim's home in Nalchik in April, strangled him, took his teeth and stole $450, RIA Novosti reported.

The court also ordered Dzugulov to pay $6,000 in fines.

Prosecutors said they were still investigating an alleged accomplice in the crime.
