The deadly outbreak of violence at the juvenile rehabilitation center at Tonacatepeque began at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, the country's Prisoners Day, ElSalvador.com reported. Two of the dead inmates were minors and four were adults who had been sentenced when they were younger, the news website said.
La Prensa Grafica reported authorities said the preliminary investigation indicated all six were members of the same gang and had been hanged.
