Former Prime Minister Ahmed Nazif and ex-Interior Minister Habib El-Adly face a second trial on charges they steered a contract to fabricate license plates to a German company without the required public bid.
Nazif was prime minister from 2004 until his government was dismissed amid the popular uprising against Mubarak in 2011.
The reason for the Cairo Criminal Court's decision to adjourn the proceedings until Oct. 27 was not revealed.
Ahram Online said Nazif received a one-year suspended sentence in the first trial. A new trial was ordered after El-Adly appealed the guilty verdict.
