YEKATERINBURG, Russia, Sept. 16 (UPI) -- A man from Russia's Ural region was sentenced to life in prison Monday after being found guilty of killing three of his family members in a cemetery.
The man now has 10 days to appeal his sentence, RIA Novosti reported.
Prosecutors said the man met his mother, father and brother in the cemetery after he evicted them from their home in August.
When his mother accused him of kicking them out he hit her, at which point his brother intervened, RIA Novosti reported. The man then pulled out a knife and killed his mother and brother. He then killed his father, who witnessed the other murders, the report said.
In a statement to investigators after the killings, the man said he previously work in a slaughterhouse where he learned how to deliver fatal wounds.
